RATING SCALE BASED ON BIOME’S SITE

How to evaluate an Internet-based information source

Biome’s Steps to Evaluating an Internet-based Information Source:

  1. Follow any links to find out as much as you can about a resource.
  2. Analyse the URL.
  3. Examine the information within the resource.
  4. Consider the accessibility, design and layout, and ease of use of the source.
  5. Obtain any additional information.
  6. Compare the resource to other similar materials.

NB: Steps 2 and 5 have been excluded because a rating scale is not applicable to these steps. In order to more objectively rate these links, the following rating scale was developed.
